About Casa de Mono

Casa de Mono is a beautifully built and unique colonial style Carribean Villa situated in one of the best areas of Bocas del Toro, a short walk away from some of the best surf & snorkel spots on the island, cafe's, and swimming.The space is made up of 4 private living and communal spaces, surrounded by a large garden and nestled right in between the jungle and the sea - close enough to hear the waves!This space is located on Isla Colon, the main island of the Bocas del Toro archipelago. With crystal clear and warm waters, and immense diversity of coral and marine fauna, this is the perfect destination for those interested in sea activitiesThis island is a blend of preserved Caribbean island with some of the comforts of home. Expect to make friends with locals, bump along unpaved roads, walk by a sloth hanging upside down from a tree, and yet still enjoy cute coffee shops and your favorite supermarket items.Read more about Casa de Mono here.

What to expect from this Co-Living Experience

  • Comfortable Living: Each family will have their own private unit, bathroom, and kitchen. Outdoor dining, relaxation, and garden areas are common spaces great for connecting. Weekly deep cleaning with linen and towel change over and 2 light cleans per week are included.

  • Activities for All Ages: Use the surfboards or snorkels provided to explore the water and coral reef surrounding the island. Visit one of the dive centers to get your certification or catch your own fish. Paddle board, kayak or sail. Take workshops or cacao farm tours with indigenous families. Explore the mangroves and nature reserves, participate in coral reef restoration, or wild animal rehabilitation. Island hop and explore, take boat tours of neighboring Islands, swim with bioluminescence under the dark sky, hike, witness turtle nesting season, or visit one of the beach clubs down the road. The best part? All of these are open for children of all ages.

  • Access to Alternative School Projects: With 3 day-schools within close distance to Casa de Mono, your children can practice their Spanish while learning even more about the local culture. Imagine small mixed-age groups, flexible schedules, anti-desk spaces, and cultural learning.

  • Step 1: Share Your Interest & Join Nomad Nest. First let us know your family is interested in participating. Afterwards, become a member to access these exclusive co-living experiences, and complete a short application to tell us about your family’s goals and values.

  • Step 2: Get Matched & Meet Your Group. We’ll review your application to build a balanced community. You’ll join a virtual meet-up with other confirmed families to connect before arrival.

  • Step 3: Confirm & Prepare for Panama. Secure your spot with a deposit, and receive onboarding guidance with travel tips, schedules, and group chat access.

4-Week Timeline for Application Process

We keep the process simple and organized.

  • Week 2: Compatibility review and group matching.

  • Week 3: Virtual meet-up with confirmed families.

  • Week 4: Onboarding and preparation for next year's unforgettable experience!

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s included in the co-living experience?
Your stay includes private accommodations including kitchen, access to shared spaces, access to surf boards and snorkeling gear, regular deep + light cleaning, and community support from Nomad Nest
How does the payment structure work?
Reserve your spot with a deposit. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the start date. If minimum occupancy isn’t met, we’ll refund your deposit in full.
How do you select families?
We carefully review each family’s application to build a balanced, supportive group where everyone feels at home together and at this location.
Is there childcare or a school program?
We have contact with 3 different schools in the area which can welcome your children during your stay as long as they are at least 3 years old.
